The Green Monster Meets NKOTBSB

The guys never fail to bring me out of a nasty funk by announcing yet another opportunity to experience a "Once in a lifetime" event. NKOTBSB, New Kids on the Block and Back Street Boys, will perform live at Fenway park on June 11. I, for one, am determined to get a great seat. Yes, I know the presales started last week, but I have a theory about how I might be able to snag a super seat that may not be apparent to the average ticket buyer. I will undoubtedly have to do some creative investigating, but where there's a die hard BH, there's a WAY....FENWAY, that is!

They're ba-a-a-ck

It's been a while since I've posted, but the last week has been filled with excitement at the anticipation of the recently announced NKOTBSB tour, Summer 2011.

That's right. Two Mondays ago, New Kids on the Block and the Back Street Boys joined forces to reveal that they are embarking on a joint tour to Ryan Seacrest.

Tickets have only been on sale for a week or two and already have sold out show dates, including Toronto and Chicago. The band has added additional dates in those cities to accomodate demand.

I am thrilled that I will have another chance to experience the "Guys" again. This time, I would love to be able to see them in their home town, Boston. Of course, there is always the second Chicago show.....if I can snag a ticket before that one sells out. Oh....what the heck....maybe I can swing both shows. After all, this is going to be an epic tour!!!!!!!!!!!! Hold on tight girls!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donnie's Risin' and Grindin'

So, I have a confession to make. After the April concert, I became somewhat of a Twitter junkie, staying logged in to the wee hours of the morning in order to get my daily "Donnie" fix. It was a fascinating new way for fans to relate to their favorite stars. However, it is also a great way for fans to bond. I began speaking regularly with several "Block Heads" and "Donnie's Soldiers".

Sorry to say, after a few months, real life intervened and my attention was diverted to freelance writing and helping kids with their homework. I just didn't seem to have the time to invest in my Twittering as I did over the Summer.

A recent email from a friend reminded me of my twitter days and how much inspiration I seemed to gleam from those daily doses of "Donnie". I didn't realize just how much I missed them or how much of a motivation they were for me.

I would like to announce that I have officially returned to Twitter and can be found as Psaysofavril. I am anxiously awaiting Donnie's solo single "Rise and Grind" to be performed in Canada on Friday. You can watch this promo video from Donnie here!

So, Donnie posted a challenge to fans from his Twitter account. He asked us to all make a video or picture with us wearing Celtic green and with "Goth" flair. When I saw his tweet, it was 2:30a.m. and I had just gotten home from a club. I rarely drink, but was with friends from out of town, and to say the least, I was a bit tipsy. So, I made a video. This pic is from that video.

The next day or so, Jordan offered to fly someone out to NY for their Today show performance on May 8. He even said that he would call your boss if you couldn't get off work. They must have something really special in store for us. I told them I would hitch hike to NY if I had to. I am pretty broke right now, but I soooooo want to be there. Still mad that I won't be at Donnie's launch party for Donnie D. Productions.

So, girls, if you want to see some really "Twisted" videos from crazy fans like me, check them out here: Twisted

My Face Time!

Well, I finally got to meet my man, Donnie, and the other guys. It was a wonderful experience. Not exactly how I imagined it, but great, nonetheless.

Here is a recap my 5* experience:

I met some really great girls while waiting to enter the meet and greet party. We had organized our group online weeks before the event. We had about six girls. We all planned on going into the meet and greet together. Well, ILAA changed the way they number people, so one of our girls got stuck with another group.

We didn't let that get us down. Finally, it was our turn to go in. The other Donnie girl in my group told me to run right for Donnie. Do, that is pretty much what I did. More like a power walk, really. When I approached Donnie, he gave me a hug and I told him "I'm not leaving your side." So, he replied while he reached to put his arm around me, "Well, get over here, then."

It happened so fast, yet every second is forever burned into my memory. I did stay by Donnie's side, at least until after the pictures were taken. However, some girl who was supposed to be a Joe girl stood right in front of me during the first pic. Donnie told her to come over by us because she was taking a picture by herself. Then, took his arm off of me and grabbed her, I think so that she wouldn't be blocking me. But, that meant that not only was the first pic ruined because she was in front of me, the second pic had him with his arm around her and me standing alone with a pissed look on my face.

Ahhh, well. At least I had my hand on his butt the entire time. I'd like to think that is why he was smiling SOOOO big. A girl can dream, can't she?

As wonderful as it was to meet Donnie, the best part came after. After pics, I wanted to get a hug from the rest of the guys. When I turned around, there was Joe, all by himself, looking right at me. We both said hello and he gave me a one armed, loosey goosey hug. Was ok, cause I have never really been a Joe girl. I like his personality enough, but he's not my type.

Next, on to Danny. I said "Hi, Danny!" and we hugged. Was nice, but by this time the security was hollering for us to get going. There were only two guys left. Jordan, my original NKOTB love and his hot brother, Jon. Since I had already seen Jordan a few years earlier, and we had seconds left, I figured I would just move to Jon. That didn't happen, because on my way to Jon, Jordan grabbed me and hugged me. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I had heard so many bad things about Jordan at meet and greets so that could have been part of the reason I was going to skip him, but he totally lived up to all of my childhood fantasies. He was sweet, funny, and very affectionate.

Security was really scrambling to push us out by now but there was Jon. I said hi Jon, and just then the security came to me, but they weren't fast enough for Jon. He came in for a hug, a really goooooood hug.

Those Knight brothers definately turned my great meet and greet into an unbelievable, once in a lifetime memory. I hadn't planned on shelling out any more money for another 5*, but now I am afraid I might be addicted. I better get another job if I plan on experiencing the Summer Tour, Full Service style! Who's with me????

Concert Day Gear

Well, I have my outfit for the show bought and paid for. It has a bit of sparkle so, hopefully, I stand out in the crowd, a tad. I had to record from my webcam to see how it looks. I give myself a thumbs up!

I really wanted to have a unique t-shirt made for the meet and greet, but I doubt that is gonna happen before Tuesday. I'll have to think of something else I can make and give to Donnie. I'm trying to score myself a backstage pass.......I'll keep you posted on how that turns out:)

Oh, don't forget to click on the link to the right to follow Donnie on Twitter. He tweets all the time!

Love

Green Bay 5* FACE TIME FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I know it has been quite a while since my last post. I have been working hard to make sure that I get to see the guys 5*, since I missed the Milwaukee concert in October.

I have my 5* ILAA VIP to the Green Bay concert on April 7. A couple friends and myself will be driving down on the morning of and spending the night. I am the only one going 5* in my group, but I am not worried. I'm sure there will be plenty of chicas to chill with at the M&G.

There is supposed to be a tailgate party in the parking lot. I will probobly be blitzed by the M&G, but I am not the kind of person to act insane....so I should be ok. I am hoping that it just helps me loosen up a bit so I don't freeze when I'm in front of Donnie.

I've been following him on Twitter. I love that site. It makes you feel like you are more "in touch" with him, I guess. He is pretty good to post a few or more times a day. I don't know how he does all that he does, but I am sure glad he does!

I will try to be posting regularly and frequently from here on in. Oh, yeah, and they posted the Summer "Full Service" Tour! I soooo want to go to Vegas and Chicago. I might have to pick one or the other. At this point, I think I would be lucky to have gas money for Chicago, let alone flight and a hotel for Vegas.........but it would so be worth it!

Well, I'm out for now, girls.
